Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!

Rio de Janeiro, among the southern hemisphere's most alluring destinations with world-class hotels and resort accommodations, is famed for beaches with names known the world over, from Copacabana to Ipanema. Most visitors to Brazil, according to travel tracking charts, start or end their journeys in Rio de Janeiro, and just as logically most leisure visitors tend to gravitate toward shoreline charms. Even so, further exploration in historic downtown neighborhoods of Centro, Lapa, and Santa Teresa provides rewarding exposure to narrow cobblestone streets, grand plazas, and buildings of baroque, beaux-arts and Art Deco charm. Rio's nightlife, heavy on samba music, pulsates year-around reaching peaks during Carnaval. Other magnetic attractions include the oft-photographed Sugar Mountain, the Christ Statue on Corcovado Mountain, and the Viceroy's Palace, Rio's first royal residence established with arrival of the Portuguese royal family. City natives, called Cariocas, extend warm welcomes to visitors, inviting them to sample myriad urban treasures and recreation options from hiking, hang gliding, surfing, and kayaking to attendance at rousing soccer games, never livelier than at Rio's Maracană stadium. Lodging options range from palatial, big splurge hotels along Copacobana and Ipanema beachfronts to more modest hotels situated inland.
